A gorgeous week spent getting into nature, exploring the local area and getting creative with Whitechapel Family Refuge. We even went and spent time in their local theatre, Shakespeare North Playhouse.

I am a Liverpool Hope University student who quite recently got the opportunity to work with Travelled Companions as part of work experience and placement for my course. At first, I was a little bit apprehensive, and I would say I was quite nervous about working out of my comfort zone and working with ages that I would never have thought I would work with.
However, after the first session the nerves were very much settled, and I really enjoyed my time with Travelled Companions. They create a lot of work that is made for younger audiences, including the play sessions for babies and toddlers that I participated in and some other dance and drama sessions for primary school ages. The sessions are interactive and fun, and they were very different from what I was expecting them to be. Although, they were very fun, and you could tell that the children got a lot from attending these sessions.
The experience has shown me many ways of using theatre and the arts to engage and inspire children. It has been a great experience to get involved with the work that Travelled Companions create, and they have influenced part of my decisions for post-graduation and what I would like to do in the future.
Finally, I want to mention that I would recommend Travelled Companions creative play sessions to anyone that I know in the Liverpool area with young children that are looking for these interactive play sessions. They give children the opportunity to make friends and develop their skills.
I cannot thank Leila, Joe, and everyone else that I worked with at Travelled Companions enough for the opportunity they gave me, and I would love to work with them again in future! – Georgia Cattanach
As we emerge from our houses we thought it would be a good time to reflect on the past year.
At Travelled Companions we have been very busy trying to find ways to carry on with the work that we do and to keep connecting with our audiences. We have been zooming into the houses of little ones, the classes of schools and have even managed some face to face sessions when we have been allowed to. Thank you so much to all of those who have supported us, we are very excited to see you in the flesh. It goes without saying that we have missed you and we are very hopeful about the next couple of months where we will be bringing you some new projects and some very exciting new work. Watch this space…..
